Inclusion is no longer a dream

Some months ago, the managers of an important company in Kazakhstan had turned to us with the idea of hiring disabled staff. After much reflection and discussion, we came to a shared decision to start training a young man with Down’s syndrome within our centre’s programme, preparing him for the tasks that he will be given within the company, and guaranteeing a period of tutorship to ensure the progressive inclusion of the young man in the work environment. It is a great challenge, since it is the first case, but at the same time we realise that this is the final aim of the whole project: to guarantee that people with disabilities are included in the real life of society, so that they can fully exercise their rights.
